Circuit quantization with time-dependent magnetic fields for realistic geometries

چکیده

Abstract Quantum circuit theory has become a powerful and indispensable tool to predict the dynamics of superconducting circuits. Surprisingly however, question how properly account for time-dependent driving via external magnetic fields hardly been addressed so far. Here, we derive general recipe construct low-energy Hamiltonian, taking as input only geometry solution fields. We find that interplay field distribution leads much richer than commonly anticipated, already in devices simple quantum interference device (SQUID). These can be captured by assigning negative, or even momentarily singular capacitances Josephson junctions. Negative give rise strong enhancement qubit relaxation rates, while lead finite Berry phase.

A Novel Toolbox for Generating Realistic Biological Cell Geometries for Electromagnetic Microdosimetry

Researchers in bioelectromagnetics often require realistic tissue, cellular and sub-cellular geometry models for their simulations. However, biological shapes are often extremely irregular, while conventional geometrical modeling tools on the market cannot meet the demand for fast and efficient construction of irregular geometries. We have designed a free, user-friendly tool in MATLAB that comb...

Spin transitions in time-dependent regular and random magnetic fields

We study the transition between Zeeman levels of an arbitrary spin placed into a regular time-dependent magnetic field and a random field with the Gaussian distribution. One component of the regular field changes its sign at some moment of time, whereas another component does not change substantially. The noise is assumed to be fast. In this assumption we find analytically the ensemble average ...

Two-dimensional colloidal systems in time-dependent magnetic fields

We use super-paramagnetic colloidal particles confined by gravitation to a flat water-air interface as a model system to study the non-equilibrium liquid-solid phase transition in two dimensions. The system temperature is adjustable by changing the strength of an external magnetic field perpendicular to the water-air interface. Increasing the magnetic field on a timescale of milliseconds quench...

Time-Mode Signal Quantization for Use in Sigma-Delta Modulators

The rapid scaling in modern CMOS technology has motivated the researchers to design new analog-to-digital converter (ADC) architectures that can properly work in lower supply voltage. An exchanging the data quantization procedure from the amplitude to the time domain, can be a promising alternative well adapt with the technology scaling. This paper is going to review the recent development in t...

Realistic examples of chaotic magnetic fields created by wires

In this paper we study some examples of magnetic fields with hyperbolic periodic orbits and erratic behavior. The remarkable fact is that the fields under consideration are originated by configurations which consist of two thin wires. We present a rigorous proof of the chaoticity of these magnetic fields, in the sense that they possess KAM islands and homoclinic tangles, and we also provide num...
